Why we started
More cities now inspect apartment buildings, score them and publish the results, and a low or falling score can bring audits, fees and a public sign at the entrance. The City's orders reach owners by registered mail or email and are easy to miss, especially when a separate company manages the building. The facts are public, but scattered across each city's open data. We put them in one place and say what they mean, in plain English, before they turn into a fee or a new sign. We started in Toronto, where every apartment building has posted a green, yellow or red sign since June 2026.
What we do
What we stand for
- Independent. We are not affiliated with any city or government and are not paid by one. We use each city's open data, published for everyone, under its licence (see Cities).
- Public facts stay free. Every building's score, sign and history are free for anyone. Owners and managers pay only for time-saving tools such as morning alerts.
- Tenants are protected. We never show who made a complaint to the City, and inside apartments we show only the kind of repair, never where.
- Private by design. No cookies to look around, no advertising trackers, no hidden images in emails. See our privacy notice.
- Honest numbers. Facts come from the City's records; estimates are marked as estimates; nothing is legal advice.
